Student Home Stay Program

Student Home Stay Program

The Homestay program is one of the International Student Programs that is highly recommended by NB’s Educational System. The best way to learn English and understand the Canadian culture is by being a member of a Canadian family, so students are placed with host families instead of living on their own. No matter what type of family the student is placed with, they will receive a caring, safe and nurturing environment. Host families treat students as a regular family member.
Students will have the same responsibilities as every other family member. Host families participate in the program because they want to meet someone from another country. They welcome the student into their home as though he/she were their own child. All host families are carefully chosen and screened prior to their participation in the homestay program as well as undergoing a criminal check. It is important to note that each student in the program is surrounded by support. They each have a homestay coordinator in their area that will work with them if they are having problems at school or with their host family. The second step of support is with the District Administrator.
The student can go to the District Administrator if they are uncomfortable with their homestay coordinator or not happy with the way the situation was handled by the homestay coordinator. Following the District Administrator is Atlantic Education International. Students are encouraged to work things out with their homestay coordinator or their District Administrator before meeting with the Atlantic Education International. The students will be well taken care of with multiple ways to communicate their discomfort if needed.
