Friday will mark two weeks since the province moved to the orange phase. According to the government’s plan, the next phase – yellow – will allow gatherings of 50 people or fewer with physical distancing, and a family and friends bubble.
That phase will also include the reopening of gyms, yoga studios, swimming pools and saunas, and low-contact team sports among others.
Higgs reminded New Brunswickers that they must continue to do their share to protect the province.
More than 50 percent of the province’s early learning and child care facilities have reopened on Tuesday. Up to 80 percent are expected to reopen by June 1.
