New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program

Number 1

Business Immigration Stream

This stream is well suited for senior business managers or experienced business owners who are willing to start or buy a business in New Brunswick and to be actively involved in it as well.

Eligibility

For consideration you must:

 

  • Be between the ages of 21-59 years
  • Have a minimum of high school diploma
  • Have obtained a minimum score equal to or greater than a Canadian Language Benchmark CLB4
  • Have a verifiable personal net worth of at least CAD $500,000($300,000 for farms applicant)
  • Obtain a score of at least 65/100 points on the stream’s selection factors
  • Plan on living in New Brunswick
  • Make an eligible business investment of not less than CAD $150,000
  • An applicant can request a change of business plan up to 90 days after arrival in New Brunswick.

 

Application Process

 

Step 1: Expression of Interest Criteria

 

Applicants must carefully fill out and submit an online Expression of Interest form (EOI). From there EOIs will be selected based on their score, background, and future business plans. EOIs will remain valid for 12 months from the date of receipt, and if the EOI is not selected, the applicant may submit a new one afterward.

 

Step 2: Receiving the Invitation to Apply

 

Invitation to apply to submit a full application will be given to successful candidates whose EOIs have been selected. Applicants must complete the application form along with sending the supporting documents for up to 90 days. A business plan and a Net Worth Verification Report must also be provided.

 

Step 3: Application Assessment

 

At this step, applications will be evaluated in receipt order.

 

Step 4: Application Approval

 

The Immigration Office will send a Business performance Agreement and a work permit support letter if approved.

 

Step 5: Work Permit Application

 

After receiving the Work Permit Letter of Support, the applicant must apply to IRCC. The Federal Government will review the application and issue a work permit if it is approved. The work permit is valid for 2 years.

 

Step 6: Arrive in Canada

 

Within 1 month following the applicant’s arrival date in Canada, the applicant must report in writing to the Immigration office and submit to PETL the Report Of Arrival form and Within the first 9 months following arrival date in Canada, the business must be open.
Within 2 years following arrival date in Canada, the applicant must have operated the business for 6 months according to the terms and conditions set out in the signed and dated Business Performance Agreement, applicant may request for Nomination letter.

 

Step 7: Apply for The Permanent residency

 

If conditions were met, a Nomination Certificate will be issued from the province. The Applicant then submits documents to IRCC. IRCC will assess the application based on Canadian immigration law and make the final decision for granting a PR visa.

Number 2

New Brunswick Skilled Worker Stream

This stream is designed for individuals who possess the qualifications, work experience, and education needed to positively impact New Brunswick’s workforce. It is intended for those who plan to live and work in the province on a long-term basis.

Applicants may be invited to apply through one of the following pathways, provided they meet the specific eligibility requirements:

 

1. New Brunswick Experience Pathway

Eligibility Criteria:
    • You are currently employed full-time in a year-round (non-seasonal) role with an approved employer in New Brunswick who supports your immigration application.
    • You have accumulated at least six months of full-time work experience with this employer.
    • You have continuously lived in New Brunswick for the six months leading up to the submission of your Expression of Interest (EOI).

 

2. New Brunswick Graduates Pathway

Eligibility Criteria:
    • You have completed a qualifying academic program at a Designated Learning Institution (DLI) in New Brunswick and are eligible for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP).
    • You are either employed full-time in a year-round role or have received a job offer from an eligible employer in the province, with their support for your immigration application.

 

3.New Brunswick Priority Occupations Pathway

Eligibility Criteria:
    • You have received a full-time, permanent (non-seasonal) job offer from a recognized New Brunswick employer who is prepared to support your application.
    • The job offer was extended as a direct result of a provincial recruitment event.
    • The role is listed among the priority National Occupational Classification (NOC) codes specified by the provincial government.
    • You have at least one year of relevant paid work experience for the occupation in question.

Important Note:

Expressions of Interest submitted under the Skilled Worker Stream are stored in a candidate pool and remain valid for one year (365 days). Selection is not based on the order of submission. Some job titles, based on specific NOC codes, may currently be excluded from consideration. NB Express Entry Stream

The New Brunswick Express Entry Stream is intended for individuals with strong professional qualifications who wish to settle in New Brunswick on a permanent basis and contribute to the province’s economic development through sustained, full-time employment.

If you meet the requirements under one of the following pathways, you may be selected and invited to apply:

 

1. Pathway: Employment in New Brunswick

Eligibility Criteria:
    • You are currently employed full-time in a year-round (non-seasonal) role with a New Brunswick employer, and your position falls under TEER levels 0, 1, 2, or 3 in the National Occupation Classification (NOC).
    • Over the past 12 months, you have worked full-time in a TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3 occupation for one or more New Brunswick employers, while being legally authorized to work in Canada.
    • You have been a resident of New Brunswick for at least the past 12 consecutive months.

 

2. Pathway: Demonstrated Interest in New Brunswick

Eligibility Criteria:
  •  You have received a Letter of Interest through your federal Express Entry profile, indicating the province’s intent to consider you for nomination.

Additional Information:

Candidates who receive an invitation under this stream must meet the eligibility criteria at the time of application submission. Invitations are based on New Brunswick’s current labour market needs and other provincial priorities.

New Brunswick Critical Worker Pilot Program

The New Brunswick Critical Worker Pilot is a provincially managed, employer-led initiative aimed at addressing specific labour shortages through strategic recruitment of skilled workers. Applications for this program are not submitted by individuals, but rather initiated through one of the officially participating employers.

Designated Employers Participating in the Pilot:

  • Cooke Aquaculture
  • J.D. Irving Ltd.
  • Groupe Savoie
  • Groupe Westco
  • Imperial Manufacturing Group
  • McCain Foods Ltd.

If you are not currently employed or offered a position by one of the companies listed above, you are not eligible to apply under this pilot stream.

Before You Apply:

To be eligible for this pilot, you must first receive a legitimate offer of permanent, full-time (non-seasonal) employment from one of the participating employers.

In addition, for any immigration stream in New Brunswick, including this pilot, you must:

  • Meet the basic eligibility and selection criteria as outlined by the program.
  • Ensure you have all necessary documentation ready to submit a complete, accurate application to both the provincial and federal governments.
