In response to questions surrounding the New Brunswick Express Entry Stream, the Province has prepared the following Q&As to respond to your most common questions.

Q: What are the eligibility requirements at the time I submit my application?

A: You must meet Federal and Provincial Express Entry eligibility requirements at the time you submit your application. This includes having a valid Federal Express Entry Profile and Job Seeker Validation Code.

Note: Attending an eligible post-secondary institution in New Brunswick does not guarantee a Nomination Certificate from the Province of New Brunswick.

Q: What is PR Readiness, and does it apply to me?

A: Yes, PR readiness applies to you. PR Readiness means that you meet all minimum eligibility requirements and that you have all the required documents on hand to prepare and submit a complete and correct application to the Province of New Brunswick and to the Government of Canada.

Q: What post-secondary institution may I attend?

A: You may attend any publicly-funded institution located in New Brunswick.

Q: What is the minimum duration of study required?

A: The minimum duration of study required is a one-year degree, diploma or certificate program. Proof of studies is required from the institution.

Q: When is the earliest I may apply?

A: You may apply three months prior to completing a minimum one-year degree, diploma or certificate program. Proof of near-completion is required from the institution.

Q: When is the latest I may apply?

A: You may apply up to six months after your completion of studies date providing you are living in Brunswick and are actively seeking employment in New Brunswick. Written proof of completion is required from the institution. Note: the completion of studies date is not the same as the graduation date.

Q: What is the first step in applying?

A: Until further notice, you should send an email to Entree.Express.Entry@gnb.ca and include the following documents:

• _Proof of residency in New Brunswick;

• _Proof or near-completion or completion from the post-secondary institution (example: degree audit from your academic advisor or registration certificate with the date on which you are likely to receive your diploma as well as a partial transcript); and

• _A valid Federal Express Entry Profile Number and Job Seeker Validation Code.

Q. May I apply without a job?

A: Yes, you may apply without a job offer.

Q: Am I required to live in New Brunswick for the duration of my studies?

A: Yes, apart from scheduled breaks and holidays, you are required to live in New Brunswick for the duration of your studies. Proof of New Brunswick residency is required.

Q: Do I need a valid study permit?

A: Yes, you need a valid Canadian study permit. While residing in Canada it is your responsibility to comply with all its requirements and to maintain legal immigration status.

Q: If I graduate during the immigration process, will my application be refused?

A: No, if you graduate during the immigration process your application will not be refused providing you are living in New Brunswick and actively seeking employment in New Brunswick.

Q: If I accept an offer of employment from a company that does not have a business location in New Brunswick, or I choose to leave the Province, will my application be refused, and my nomination certificate revoked?

A: Yes, if you accept an offer of employment from a company that does not have a business location in New Brunswick, or otherwise leave the Province, your application will be refused, and your nomination certificate revoked.

You should only apply for immigration through New Brunswick if you intend to live and work in the province.

Q: Do I need to hire a third-party representative to prepare my application?

A: No, you are not required to hire a representative. Using one will not draw special attention to your application and does not mean we will approve an Invitation to Apply or issue of a nomination certificate. You can get all the forms and instructions you need to apply for nomination for free on our website. If you follow the instructions, you should be able fill out the forms and submit them yourself.

You may choose to use a representative to provide immigration advice or help. If so, you must disclose that you have received assistance in preparing an application. Failure to declare such assistance will result in the refusal of your application.
