{"id":16783,"date":"2024-05-08T07:44:36","date_gmt":"2024-05-08T07:44:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/swallowimmigration.ca\/en\/?p=16783"},"modified":"2024-05-08T16:12:22","modified_gmt":"2024-05-08T16:12:22","slug":"changes-to-start-up-visa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/swallowimmigration.ca\/en\/changes-to-start-up-visa\/","title":{"rendered":"Changes to Start-up Visa"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Changes to the Start-up Visa and Self-Employed Persons programs to help reduce backlogs and improve processing times<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Honourable Marc Miller, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, announced several changes to Canada\u2019s federal business <a href=\"https:\/\/swallowimmigration.ca\/en\/new-brunswick-provincial-plans\/\">programs <\/a>to help reduce processing times and the application backlog. These changes take effect on April\u00a030, 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>capping the number of permanent residence applications we will accept for processing each year to those associated with no more than 10\u00a0start-ups per designated organization<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>providing priority processing for entrepreneurs whose start-up is supported by Canadian capital or by a business incubator that is a member of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/canadastechnetwork.ca\/\">Canada\u2019s Tech Network<\/a>, including applications in the inventory and new applications as they are submitted<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Since the program began in 2013, about 900&nbsp;entrepreneurs have become permanent residents through this category, representing the launch of more than 300
