Atlantic Canada Could Become A Global Green Hydrogen Hub<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Since taking the reins of the Atlantica Centre for Energy, Michelle Robichaud said she\u2019s watched green hydrogen<\/a> \u201cjump to the top\u201d of Canada\u2019s clean fuel transition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Robichaud noted that Atlantic Canada\u2019s many clean energy resources \u2013 wind turbines, New Brunswick\u2019s burgeoning market for small modular nuclear reactors, and hydroelectric resources across the region \u2013 are the \u201cperfect mix,\u201d to enable Atlantic Canada to become a hydrogen hub.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another major movement on the hydrogen front was on August 23 when Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz signed a declaration of joint intent between Canada and Germany, where Canada pledged to help Germany break its reliance on natural gas by producing and shipping hydrogen to Germany.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Robichaud noted that Atlantic Canada\u2019s many clean energy resources \u2013 wind turbines, New Brunswick\u2019s burgeoning market for small modular nuclear reactors, and hydroelectric resources across the region \u2013 are the \u201cperfect mix,\u201d to enable Atlantic Canada to become a hydrogen hub.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
