 <\/strong><\/a>Exporting LNG To Europe<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Canada\u2019s prime minister faced questions about exporting<\/a> natural gas to Europe as he met with the German chancellor in Montreal<\/strong> on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It comes as Germany and other European countries look to reduce their reliance on Russian gas amid ongoing uncertainty around energy supply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Justin Trudeau<\/strong> said there are several potential projects in the works to export liquefied natural gas from the east coast to Europe, including one in Saint John, N.B<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, Trudeau said one of the challenges around LNG<\/strong> is the number of investments needed to build the required infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trudeau said while the need currently is to counter the energy crisis created by Russia, \u201cthe world needs to accelerate its ending of dependency on oil<\/strong> and gas<\/strong> in general\u201d in the medium and long term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
