Regulation Amending the Immigration <\/a>and Refugee Protection Regulations (Amendment of Certain Fees) <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Amendments <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

1- Section 294 of the Immigration\nand Refugee Protection Regulations’ <\/em>is amended by striking out\n“and” at the end of paragraph (b), by adding “and” at the\nend of paragraph (c) and by adding the following after paragraph (c): <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

(d) <\/strong>the fees set out in subsections 295(1) and 301(1), section 302,\nsubsection 304(1) and section 307 shall be indexed at 09:00:00 a.m. Eastern\ndaylight time on April 30, 2022, and every two years after that on April 30 at\nthat same time, in accordance with the cumulative percentage increase to the\nConsumer Price Index for Canada, published by Statistics Canada, for the two\nprevious years, rounded to the nearest five dollars. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

2 -Paragraphs 295(1)(b) and (c) of the Regulations is replaced by the following: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

(b) <\/strong>if the application is made by a person as a member of the Quebec investor class, the Quebec entrepreneur class, the start-up business class, the self-employed person class or the Quebec self-employed persons class <\/p>\n\n\n\n

(i) <\/strong>in respect of a principal applicant, $1,575, <\/p>\n\n\n\n

(ii) <\/strong>in respect of a family member of the principal applicant who is\na spouse or common-law partner, $825, and <\/p>\n\n\n\n

(iii) <\/strong>in respect of a family member of the principal applicant who is\na dependent child, $225; and <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If the application is made by a person as a member of any other\nclass or by a person referred to in section 71 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

(i) <\/strong>in respect of a principal applicant, $825, <\/p>\n\n\n\n

(ii) <\/strong>in respect of a family member of the principal applicant who is\na spouse or common-law partner, $825, and <\/p>\n\n\n\n

(iii) in\nrespect of a family member of the principal applicant who is a dependent child,\n$225. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

(iii) in\nrespect of a family member of the principal applicant who is a dependent child,\n$225. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

3- Subsection 303(1) of the Regulations is replaced by the following<\/a>:<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fee – $500 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

303 (1) <\/strong>A fee of $500 is payable by a person for the\nacquisition of permanent resident status. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Indexation <\/p>\n\n\n\n

(1 .1<\/strong>) The fee set out in subsection (1) shall be indexed at 09:00:00\na.m. Eastern daylight time on April 30, 2022, and every two years after that on\nApril 30 at that same time, in accordance with the cumulative percentage\nincrease to the Consumer Price Index for Canada, published by Statistics\nCanada, for the two previous years, rounded to the nearest five dollars. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Coming into Force <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

4- These Regulations come into force at 09:00:00 a.m. Eastern\ndaylight time on April 30, 2020, but if they are registered after that time,\nthey come in- to force at 09:00:00 a.m. Eastern daylight time on the day after\nthe day on which they are registered. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
