{"id":12543,"date":"2020-03-24T14:27:30","date_gmt":"2020-03-24T14:27:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/swallowimmigration.ca\/en\/?p=12543"},"modified":"2021-09-09T11:21:09","modified_gmt":"2021-09-09T11:21:09","slug":"immigration-community","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/swallowimmigration.ca\/en\/immigration-community\/","title":{"rendered":"Immigration community"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Important\nNotice from the office of <\/strong><strong>Member of Parliament for Fredericton<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hi <a href=\"https:\/\/swallowimmigration.ca\/en\/about-us\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Nousheen<\/a>, please feel free to forward this to others in the consultant or immigration community.\u00a0 We are ready to help wherever needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Re:\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CRymq2fpiEd\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">immigration <\/a>updates Monday, March 23\/20<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hi Folks,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I spoke with an agent on the Minister of Immigration&#8217;s urgent line this morning.&nbsp; It took 5 days for a callback.&nbsp; They are now back to Mon to Fri hours 9 am to 7 pm EST.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The agent\nsaid that issues have been clarified between the Minister of Immigration and\nthe Minister of Transport since last week and that there is now less\nmisunderstanding and more clarity in how the airlines are boarding people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Minister\nof Immigration has clarified that&nbsp;all\nthose with Permanent Resident Visa applications approved before Mar 16th are\ncleared to enter Canada as long as that visa is valid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Some, like the refugee couple we are dealing with from Iran, do not have their documents (passport and visa) which are with third parties like IOM Turkey who were arranging their flights and exit.&nbsp; These people need their documents in order to travel and getting them back from agencies themselves now in turmoil because of quarantines may be the issue.&nbsp; But these people can come into Canada any time up to the expiration of those visas.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The Minister\nof Transport has clarified that the temporary foreign worker exemption includes\nnot just agricultural, fish, and caregiver categories, but their internal memo\nstates, &#8220;and all other temporary foreign workers&#8221;.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The Ministry of Immigration is, therefore advising that&nbsp;all those foreign nationals with&nbsp;<strong>valid Canadian work permits&nbsp;<\/strong>are allowed to board flights, and will be permitted to enter Canada.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>There are\nstill some issues with how these rules are being communicated to and\ninterpreted by airlines.&nbsp; Our office will help where we can.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Kathryn Downton, RSW<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Constituent Advocate\/Defenseuse\ndes citoyen.nes<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Office of Jenica Atwin, O.C., M.P.\/Bureau de Jenica Atwin O.C.,&nbsp;D\u00e9put\u00e9e<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Member of Parliament for Fredericton\/D\u00e9put\u00e9e de Fredericton<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hi Nousheen, please feel free to forward this to others in the consultant or immigration community.
